The post-2020 climate regime is expected to be agreed in 2015 in 21st Conference of Parties (COP 21) in Paris. The recently concluded, COP 20 in Lima, Peru came out with elements of draft negotiating text and the ‘Lima call for climate action’, which are expected to form the basis of negotiations till the run up to Paris. It is pertinent to analyze these texts with a view to interpret them, and the likely shape the 2015 climate agreement may take and what it means for businesses. Under the aegis of the program, we organized a round table discussion to facilitate larger engagement with key practitioners who choose the low carbon approach and/or are unable to participate in person. The objective of the roundtable discussion was to bring together leading policy-makers, corporates and experts on climate change from India to reflect on the potential role the Indian corporates can play in light of the dynamic and emerging climate policy scenario both at the international and domestic levels, including the National Clean Energy Fund.
